Common Hearing Aid Problems
Hearing aids are small, precise pieces of technology, and like anything worn daily, they can develop faults over time. Claire regularly sees issues including:
- Whistling or feedback noises
- No sound, or the hearing aid not switching on
- Sound that’s distorted, muffled or too quiet
- Wax or moisture blocking the microphone or receiver
- Battery problems, including rechargeable batteries that no longer hold charge

What Happens At A Repair Appointment
Claire starts by examining the hearing aid and checking it against your ears, looking for blockages, damage or wear. Many faults, such as a blocked wax filter or a worn tube, can be fixed on the spot. Where a fault needs specialist parts or a manufacturer repair, Claire will arrange this and keep you updated on timescales.
